What is TRX Training?

I started going to TRX suspension training group classes 9 years ago and got huge results - unexpectedly so. I wasn’t sure much could happen with just two straps and no weights but I was fascinated by the way I could do full body strength and cardio workouts with this 1 piece of equipment. It inspired me to train to teach it myself.

The suspension trainer works by using gravity and your body weight to create resistance. Progression comes by simply changing your stance, grip or positioning in relation to the straps - also by using variations of the moves. There is always progression. 

One of my favourite things about it, is that for every move, you are forced to engage your core, creating strength from deep within. It improves your posture, mobility and balance as well as strength and muscle tone. Moves range from a standing chest press or bicep curl, right down to the floor for pikes (book in with a complimentary consultation and I’ll show you these moves!).

It is also incredible for deep-stretching. Your heart rate will come up by practising moves like skaters or squat jumps and down for mobility training. Whether it’s intense interval workouts, strength training or mobility work, the opportunities are endless. It’s a wonderfully versatile piece of kit that can be placed pretty much anywhere without the need for lots of room.  This also means that you can train with me online if you need to travel for work. We will always find somewhere to hang it. I am the only specialist in this piece of equipment here in Portugal and am a proud ambassador of the brand.
